Chris Perri Overturns Another Wrongful Conviction in Texas

Chris Perri Law is thrilled to announce that the Court of Criminal Appeals has agreed to overturn our client’s wrongful conviction.

In 2018, a jury in Bell County, Texas found the client guilty of an aggravated felony case, however they did not have all of the facts. Following the wrongful conviction, a loved one of the client hired Chris Perri to help rectify this wrong. After an extensive investigation, Chris Perri discovered that the client’s trial attorney rendered ineffective assistance of counsel, which violated the client’s constitutional rights.

In collaboration with the client and his trusted support system, Chris Perri then drafted and filed a writ of habeas corpus to present his claims to the Court of Criminal Appeals. While they rarely grant relief, in this case, they found the arguments persuasive and agreed the conviction was unjust. Now, this man’s felony conviction and 30-year prison sentence have been reversed. Soon, he will be a free man able to reunite with his loved ones.
